June 30, 2012

We went to the pond today with my sister and niece to feed the ducks. It was a good way to spend the last day of June.

June 29, 2012

The sky tonight. Summer days are long. (Sometimes too long.)

June 28, 2012

Today was parent day at her summer piano class.  She played "Yankee Doodle" and was pretty happy about it.

June 27, 2012

I've fed my kids pizza from a box a lot this month. Like, a whole lot. There are 3 more days left of June and I can't promise that we won't have it at least one more time before the month is over. Cooking dinner is sort of my least favorite thing to do lately.

There are a few things I do in life that remind me that I am actually a real life adult. Voting is one of them (driving a minivan is another.)   :)  I remember when I was a kid my mom coming to our elementary school  to vote and getting an "I voted" sticker.  And since I turned 18 She has always made sure I knew when voting day was and where the location was for me to vote.
So,
Hey Mom, I voted.
And,
Hey recorded phone messages asking me to vote for "so and so", please stop calling me everyday, and waking my kids up from their naps. :)

At the park today. We rarely go to the park. This was actually the first time we have been to the park this summer. My girl begs me to take her to the park every time we drive by. I tell her the same thing every time, "not today." Going to the park with my kids always ends up in either a lost child, a child running out into the parking lot and giving me a heart attack or someone peeing their pants. Every. Single. Time. But the other day as we passed the park my 4 year old said "Mom can we go to the park when I grow up?" So then I felt the mom guilt and decided we needed to go to the park before my girl grows up. It turns out no one got lost and everyone stayed on the toys and out of the parking lot but we did have a potty training accident. Oh well, we had a good time anyway.

Our church building. Even though it is less than a mile away sometimes it is a struggle to get there. Taking four kids to church by myself  is hard some days. But then again, taking four kids to church when my husband is home is still hard.  We are late a lot. My kids have to be taken out to the hallway a lot. But I like being there, a lot.

June 23, 2012

My sister and brother-in-law and their kids came over today while my brother-in-law (and sister) stained my deck in the backyard. After working on it for a few (10!) hours. They took a break and watched the West Haven Days fireworks from our front yard. It was a fun day (and night).

June 22, 2012

Lately my girls have been wanting to take pictures of me. I guess they are tired of me taking pictures of them.

June 21, 2012

Today was hot. The kids went out back and sprayed each other with the hose. (And no matter how many times I told them to not flood the patio, the water still all ended up there.)

June 20, 2012

At their cousin's birthday party tonight. Water fight and cake and ice cream. Good times. :)

June 19, 2012

Fun? This is us tonight. (We even brought out the computer so their dad could join the party.) So far a lot of screaming, some fighting, and some crying. It's going better than I thought.

June 18, 2012

He hasn't been feeling well. He is mad about everything. This is what his face looked like most of the day, accompanied by a loud (very loud and constant) cry. Tomorrow will be better. Right?

June 17, 2012

Me and my dad.

June 16, 2012

The view from my house tonight.

June 15, 2012

She had her Kindergarten checkup today. She was nervous but tried not to show it. She brought her stuffed animal "Monkey" with her.  She did great and only cried a little bit after they poked her finger to do some blood work. When I asked her what was wrong and if she wanted me to hold her she said "I just really want dad." She is a sweety and soon she will be off to kindergarten. I can't believe she is getting so big.

June 14, 2012

My girl this morning at 6:50am. She got to spend the day at the Scout Camp with the Activity Days girls and leaders. She was so excited. She had big plans to buy a sling shot or a pocket knife at the camp store. Instead she came home with a necklace for me, a necklace for her sister and some candy for her brothers. (That is totally typical of her...everywhere she goes she brings us back something. I love that.)

June 13, 2012

At the library.

June 12, 2012

He has never been fond of getting his haircut.

June 11, 2012

Home. I am so thankful for my home. So many great memories are being made here. We have such a great neighborhood and the best neighbors anyone could ask for.

June 10, 2012

Today my boy is old enough to go to nursery! No more pacing the halls during Sunday school and wrestling him through Relief Society.  It is a joyous day. :)

(Now I just pray that he will be happy and not cry when I leave him, he did okay today, so there is hope for the future.)

June 9, 2012

My parents have a soda pop machine in their garage. They buy soda and stock the machine and they even supply the quarters to buy them.  Every time we go there I can guarantee he will ask multiple times to have one. "Can I have a soda today mom?" Can I pwease have a soda mom? Pwease mom pwease." I think he likes buying them from the machine more than he likes drinking them.

June 8, 2012

The girls had their dance show tonight.

June 7, 2012

Swimming lessons are almost over. (Woohoo!) The girls have loved going everyday but me and the boys, not so much. Sitting and watching people swim is not nearly as fun as actually swimming. They have had fun and hopefully we can put those new swimming skills to good use this summer.
(When I look at this picture I wonder how much longer they are going to let me dress them alike. I feel it coming soon, the revolt against the matching outfits and hairdos. Honestly I am not sure how I have talked them into it this long. :)

June 6, 2012

Taking a bath in the sink at Grandma's house.

June 5, 2012

I guess my birthday just hasn't ended quite yet because tonight my niece made me an appointment to go get a massage and she came over and watched my kids and put them to bed while I was gone. I am feeling pretty spoiled.

June 3, 2012

He left this afternoon, I am completely unprepared as always to be the responsible 24 hours 7 days a week parent again. (Parenting is so much more fun with two.) If I could rewind and have a few more days it would be great. Not sure what else to say about that...
But hey, the moon sure was beautiful tonight.

June 2, 2012

We went to a wedding reception tonight. While we were there I asked my niece to take a picture of our family real quick. We gathered everyone together and she took the picture. I told  her thanks and she said, "Do you want to look at the picture and make sure you like it?" I said "No I am sure it's fine". She gave me the camera and we went home. I see now why she thought perhaps we might want to try a retake.

I have a few questions: Why is my daughter making that face? Why is my older son doing squinty pirate eyes and why is my other daughter wrapping her arm around the babies neck? And last why did I not know this was all going on around me? These are questions I just have no answers for. (My husband looks pretty handsome though so it isn't a total loss. :)

June 1, 2012

My baby acting big. (And getting his sticky fingers all over the screen.)He was just happy as can be that I let him hold it, he didn't care that it wasn't turned on.
